Abstract

In today’s day and age, environmental consideration of the transport of goods is a key aspect of effective logistics management. Reverse logistics, as the process of recovering and processing used materials, plays a significant role in reducing waste and minimizing the negative impact on the environment. This article discusses an overview of selected environmental models that solve the problems associated with reverse logistics transportation. We analyse different approaches, such as round-trips with limited capacity and variable conditions, focusing on route optimization and minimizing emissions. We also discuss current trends and challenges in the field of research, in order to promote sustainable logistics solutions and practices.
