Abstract

Nowadays, there are many challenges associated with the virtual world of the Internet. The period of pandemic we have been going through has enabled an even greater boom in digitization than we have been able to observe in the last decade. Therefore, it is appropriate to address the topic of digital citizenship, what means who we are and how we act in the virtual world. This world should also have its principles and rules so that we can function in it, as it is in our physical world. The article deals with the issue of digital citizenship, looks at the principles and functioning of people in the virtual world. It brings opportunities in how the school environment can help shape digital citizenship in the future. Also brings an overview of the so-called competences necessary for learning, teaching and leadership in the digital age, which represent a comprehensive plan for the effective use of digital citizenship not only in schools but also in everyday life.
